my burner is burning slow, hp told me it was because i had nero on a media center, is this true. Also one of my burners makes crackling noises and plays dvds slow but the other one plays them fine. The one with the problem is the one i use for burning because the slave is slow. Any info on media centers and nero or dvd shrink being incompatible with media centers and messing up the operating system would be appreciated. Or any programs that are compatible with windows xp media center edition would help me a lot thank you.

    jlv2325 ,
I think HP is giving you a line. Do this and make sure you have the Nero install disk handy. Uninstall Nero and then go to Nero's website and and D/L the Cleantools as this program will completely remove Nero from the computer. Now use Shrink to compress the movie and then use DVDDecrypter to burn the DVD. If you do not have the instructions to do so PM me and I'll PM them to you.
Windows Media Center is nothing but XP minus some programs w/in the OS so that the different computer makers can add there junk to the computer's OS.
If the computer is under warranty tell HP to send you a new DVD Drive as the one making the noise and playing the DVD's slow should not be doing so
