i need help. i have far cry and it works perfectly at a 1024x768 resolution and the display settings set to medium power. but when i put them 2 very high power and change the resolution to 1280x1024 resolution the game starts running slowly. i have 384+128mb shared ram 512mb all together and an ati radeon xpress 200 series grafics card. would i need more ram or a better grafics card to make it run smoothly and faster?

I'm surprised you can run the game at all with the integrated gfx you have. You need a new gfx card.

Your ram sounds abit wierd for that chipset.384+128 mb shered what's that about?

Also you may want to reduce the sig or the mods will get on you about it.

The Radeon Xpress200 is an integrated chipset and was never meant to play games like FarCry. So if I were you I would just be happy that I could even run it at 1024 x 768.

I'm surprised that the Xpress200 even runs that game at all. It isn't even a real video card. It is a chipset integrated into the motherboard.

Also, you really have 512MB of RAM. Your integrated video, not having memory of its own, steals 128MB of memory from your system. I really recommend you get a new graphics card and more RAM.

For graphics you should look at a Radeon X800GTO. 1GB for RAM.

But if you're running on a laptop you're out of luck both ways. The most you could do is RAM but graphics would be out of the question. Be happy you can run well on video as weak as the Xpress200.

And do something about your signature. It is WAY too big. Mine is about the size limit. Take off all but four of your user bars and you're good. It's just a signature, not your life story. If you want to put up pictures do it on your profile page.
