I put a xenium ice modchip and a maxtor 120gb hard drive in my xbox about a year ago. Everything works fine on it except Halo 2. When I first put it on my hard drive, it loaded very quickly. For the last month, i have had to put up with map load times of about 3 minutes. I tried deleting it from my xbox, after reinstalling it it still has slow load times. This has me stumped...Anyone have any idea of why it is doing this???? Thanks
Try clearing your X, Y, and Z partitions. The maps are compressed when they're put on the CD, and uncompressed and stored on those parts of the HDD during play to be accessed. Clearing those parts of the drive is harmless and may solve your problem.
