    Hi
i have been using dvd decrypter to do my dvd based games, and i copy and write at the slowest speed. I am usingMaxell dvd-r. My problem is when i swap it with swap magic 3.6, the game loads incredible slow the first menu comes up fast but evrytime i select something it takes about 2-15 minutes to load.
Could i be doing something wrong or using the wrong media i hear DVD-r are the type to use my dvd burner i hear works fine.
DOes anyon suggest a better program, i have nero 6 ultra edtion also if that could work. how abouts would i go about doing so.
    thanks

maxell dvd-r are really good media. don't burn them at slowest speed. burn them at half speed of the maximum speed of disc. say 8x then 4x.

    also try rebuilding the game.

if this doesn't work. get small packs of other good media and see which one works best for you.

The one's made in Japan that you use are excellent media Sulaim. However if you get the Maxell's made in Taiwan, you could end up with CMC Mag. :( What's the Media ID on those Maxell's?

    91. Q. What is the Media ID of a DVD and how can I find it?
A.The Media ID of a DVD is the true measure of it's quality. It contains prerecorded info about the disc's manufacturer. The quality of the disc will vary depending on the media code. The media code isn't visible on the disc or the packaging. To check the media ID, Open DVD Decrypter, insert your disc, and check what it says under Media ID or Manufacturer ID. You can also use a program called DVD Identifier which is very useful. You can find it here: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_tools/dvd_identifier.cfm
Last but not least you can use DVD Info Pro: http://www.dvdinfopro.com/
Compare the Media ID to this link: http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm

i checked it with dvd decrypter and the id is RITEKG05. I actually finally got a game to work (ATV Offroad Fury 2) (copied with decrypter burned with neor) but the majority of my games are cd-rom based how would i go about burning cd based games. Also my swap magic disc (cd rom) doesnt do anything in the ps2, is this because the ps2 has one rom.... or something. I seem to be able to do dvd rom based fine and the disc loads, if you happen to have a list of dvd rom based games that would be much appreciated
    thanks

The Swap Magic CD is notoriously fickle. Use Alcohol 120% to burn your PS2 CD-ROM based games.

    14. Q. How do I burn PS2 CD-ROM based games?
    A. Use Alcohol 120%. Open Alcohol 120%. Insert the disk you wish to create the image from in your CD-ROM drive. Click image making wizard. Set the read speed to 1x, check ignore read errors, fast skip error blocks, leave the write method alone, select your recorder, set the write speed to 4x, and set the datatype to PS2. Click next. Once the image is created, right click it and go to image burning wizard. Set the write speed to 4x, the write method to DAO/SAO, the data type to PS2, and select your recorder, click next.
