I have Trend Micro PC-cillin Internet Security 2006 on my computer and it makes it so slow and when I used Norton Antivirus it was even worse. I just want to know why it causes your computer to lack such performance that it's capable of. is thier a way of protecting your computer with fast internet surfing as well? what's the best out there for that?

Have had that complaint from more than one user. The number of processes going on in the background is the culpret. To be Fair trenmicro is by far not the worse one. McCafee is intolerable to me and Norton's and old favorite is almost as bad. I cured my problem by just using ZA free, AVG free, Ewido free, Spybot free and AdAware free, spyads free, Google toolbar, Firefox as a browser( most of the time)and Spam fighter for mail junk. You do have to pay attention to updates and still use safe tactics when surffing, but it works for me. I say free, but I have made paypal donations to a lot of developers who have taken the time to make tools I find useful. I beleive good work needs to be supported. Even a small donations helps. Ok,,, off my soapbox.

Your processor, if it is older may also not have enough oomph to run all those tasks in background and still do your surffing thing. How much memory do you have and last but not least , What OS. A look at your specs might lend a clue to your slow expereince. How many processes do you have going in your start up?? Take a look in Msconfig yeah,,,, could be a number of things causing your grief.

Thats a few things you can check

    Cheers

I've got a Duel-Core AMD 4200+ that I just put in ! So I better be able to run everything. Also, 2 Gigs of Corsair 3200 for Microsoft Pro.
