Just bought an LG GSA-H10L. My first burner. It's supposed to write at 16X, I'm lucky to get 2X. It takes over 24 hours to burn a disk. I've tried Nero and Roxio software. Any suggestions? Thanks

First we used Fuji Film Dual Layer DVD-R and then switched to single layer Sony DVD-R

Well if the dvds are 4x or 8x for example and you set up nero right then im not quite sure. Are you doin something with your other dvd/cd drive(if you have one), also try setting up this drive as the primary ide drive.
[bold]Also[/bold] try enamling DMA on your drive (can find how to do this in instrustion manual). I think that should do the trick, if not then maybe defragment your harddvrive.
Hope this helps and Post with your results
[bold]Edit: I found a guide to help you enable DMA that you might find useful http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/260038 [/bold]

Thanks for the info. WHile going through my system files yesterday, I found a file called "pxhelp20.sys". When I googled it, I found a lot of people have been having similar symptoms recently because of this file (most likely left over from the REcord Now uninstall) and it's believd to be related to a recent windows update. I'll go ahead and perform the steps you suggested as an added measure.
Thanks again - I'll let you know how things work out
