I'm using Smartripper 2.41 to rip DVD's, in the instructions on this site it says it should take 10 - 15 minutes to rip but it takes nearly 50 minutes.
Also the DVD2AVI instructions say about 1 hour to convert audio to wave file but it's taking well over 2 hours.
The upside is that it's only taking 4 hours for TMPGEnc. to write an MPEG file.
I'm running a Pentium 4 1.4Mhz with 256 memory and an IBM 7200 rpm hard drive.
The DVD player is a Liteon 16 speed and the writer is a Liteon 24 speed (no problems writing and end results are very good!) but why is the ripping slower than the suggested times (and these were based on a Pentium 3 800).

    Thanks for any help,

    Topkat.

OOPS sorry about posting a DVD ripping question! I was that eager to post that I didn't take time to read the message. Once again sorry folks.
