Hey all, got a problem, I have two computers, both have dvd writers, one newly installed, and when I had this problem with the older one, (both computers same w/XP, both burners the same)I got a link from a former forum, which has recently been shutdown so I can't go back and get the link again, anyway, back to my problem, I the other burner would get read/write errors and would not burn any dvd anymore, the link, I believe was from Microsoft, it gave me the paths and keys to change in my registry, It had me add a "reset after burn successful" kind of thing to the registry key, now with no matter what I search for I can't seem to find that link again, to change on the other computer, I did print it, but I think the dog ate it! LOL Can someone please help
OK, we really your PCs spec, how much RAM, CPU size, Burner models etc. Have you updated firmware for burners, have you de-fragged & done all the usual "cleaning up your PC" stuff, what media & software are you using? So many questions.... Pulsar BTW Hi there & welcome to Afterdawn!
well, the burner is a HP 640i lightscribe,(HP DVD Writer 640c) and HL-DT-ST RW/DVD GCC-4481B, 2 80gig hard drives. amd athlon xp 3000+ 1.10 Ghz, 504mb of ram, Not sure what the does to help me with my link question, but I hope it gives you enough info. I am really sure that the link, took me to a microsoft support page, and from there I was given the keys to look for and the the ones to edit, add, and modify
