small file dvd's

a friend of mine has just sent me 2 dvd hame movies but the file size on the disc is only 1.41gb and my standalone dvd player(supervision 2500) refuses to read them they play them,it will play backups of full movies on dvd-r and +r without fault just not these small file discs.The movies will play in my ps2 and play fine in several friends players its just the above player that refuses to recognise them so i was woundering if there was some simple way to "bulk" them up i have various dvd software and a dvd writer so dont mind re-burning them,any ideas anyone thanks in advance
