this is probably a stupid question, but I want to know if it is possible to go back to the origonal apple firmware, one you've downloaded rockbox onto your ipod. To make things more clear, is there anyway to switch back to the original firmware from rockbox, and if there is a way, can you tell me.

    Thanks in advance

After a period of inactivity, Rockbox will shut down and put your iPod into a power-saving deep sleep mode. You can also manually shut down Rockbox and your iPod by holding the "play/pause" button for about 4 seconds.

From this deep sleep mode, press menu to wake up ye iPod. If you keep your finger held on "Menu" whilst your iPod is booting, then the Rockbox bootloader will start the Apple firmware. Do not release the MENU button until you see the "Loading original firmware..." message on the screen.

Considering the rockbox bootloader is under 5MB and contains various full-colour games, I'd say, not a lot of space at all. Certainly not significant enough to warrant removing them.
