When using smart ripper sometimes it asks key not found use last key (y/n). which is the best to pick, also after ripping to the hard drive whichever i chose the instant copy says css not supported from the hard drive. can anyone help/explain

Use DVD Decrypter and DVD2One as a package or use DVD Shrink.

In DVD Decrypter preferences/options check the box 'ignore read errors' ...

okay jeeenee, i've done 28 days ( and wot a cracker!!)
rip with dvd decrypter in file mode,
squash with DVD2ONE in 'full disk' mode,
burn with PRASSI, or whatever you have (but a decendent of prassi is good as the prassi engine seens to cover all players, and the game machines.
Actually, i never had to re-encode mine - I bought a damaged disk from the video shop, skimmed it with 'SKIP DOCTOR' and it ripped fine. Video shop versions of films are quite sparse when it comes to extras, so i don't know what the retail version is like.

Thanks for the reply I will try that especially the prassi side as the pinnacle instant copy won't work (well not for me).

are you using the latest version of decypter?
version 3.1.6.0 has some additional encryption cracking features.

As I stated in above post if using Decrypter the tick box 'ignore read errors'

[bold]jeeenee [/bold] I had an awkward DVD 'The Long Good Friday' and the only process that would work for me is DVD Shrink 2.3 in full-disk mode
Try it , nothing to lose as DVD Shrink is a free d/l...
