I can convert/shrink avi files then play using SM on the 3230 no problem & they remain avi format. It really is a nice piece of software and the video on the nok is dammed good too. It turns a 30mb file to 3mb in seconds. I can convert mpg files to 3gp format using nokia multimedia converter 2, then play using the real-player that comes on the phone. However, the quality and screen size on SM is far better than real-player so I am trying to get SM to play mpg etc. Is this just a codec issue or something inherent with SM that only lets it play avi--I thought from reading the SM site info it did all sorts. I dont want to spend a week changing mpgs to avi. :-(( I will download the new FFDshow codecs today and try & install them on the phone when I get home. If SM only does avi can anyone recommend a combined shrink /mpg to avi tool ?
update: I should think the FFD codecs are only for PC NOT phone. I will try the symbian60 codecs from SM in case they are different from the ones alredy loaded as "smart-phone"
