can someone plz help me? i'm currently in the situation that i just recently got my xbox modded, but it seems to freeze up everytime i try to directly copy games or any kind of data from the xbox dvd drive to the hard drive. so I've decided to do everything by disc.

the only problem is that i have a huge disc of roms that my brother has given to me, without an emulator on that same disc. i've downloaded xsnes9x, but i have no idea how i'd go about burning that onto a disc along with the roms so that my xbox would be able to read it properly. any help would be appreciated!

Take the roms from your brother's disc and put them in the roms folder in xSnes9x. Get Craxtion4 and convert the whole xSnes9x folder into an ISO and burn it onto a disc. Make sure you don't go over the size limit.

well I dled a copy of the craxtion 4 program but it seemed to not work. so instead i remembered that i still had Qwix on my HD. From there I put all of the roms into that same folder you told me to, and then converted the xsnes9x folder into an iso and tried to burn it using Nero. Yet for some reason the xbox won't even load the game at all. It won't even proceed to launch dvd when I tell it to. I think it may be because of either the program I chose to use, or you also mentioned a size limit. When you say that, do you mean the size limit of the dvd that I can burn, or is there some kind of size limit for isos? any suggestions?

In order for Craxtion4 to work properly you will need to have the .NET Framework, it's on the same download page of the Craxtion website. I'm a little more comfortable with Craxtion4 so I usually use it before Qwix. OK just to make sure, the xSnes9x folder should have these folders/files inside it or something along the line:

    - FreezeFile folder
    - ips folder
    - Media folder
    - Previews folder
    - Roms folder <---- roms go in here and should be in .zip format.
    - Skins folder
    - Config.ini
    - default.xbe

When I mentioned the size limit, yes I meant the size of your DVD-R. But I don't think that's an issue though cuz mine's only 2.16GB in size. Once everything is in place, open Craxtion4 and choose Create ISO, choose the xSnes9x folder, choose OK and choose a dir to save the output (ISO). Then burn.

OK, now after some retracking over my steps and looking at what I could have done wrong, I finally realized my main problem. I guess it would help if I didn't try burning the snes9x gamecube emulator onto a dvd and try playing it on my xbox! :p But, now that I'm asking this, I feel even more stupid. I know you guys hate it when people ask for links, but I was wondering if you could give me a link to a proper xsnes9x site so I can finally enjoy my snes roms. I've scoured the http://www.lantus-x.com/xSnes9x/ page OVER and OVER again, yet I still don't see any direct links to downloads of the program. sorry for the inconvenience :(

hey thanks so much for the help and patience achilles. I actually found the emulator on a different page after about an hour of searching. Converted it to iso with qwix and burnt it, and everything is all good. I presume I'd do the same for any other emulator/roms?

No problem, glad to see you sorted it out. For other emulators, the procedure is pretty much the same. Enjoy.
