Hi all, I'm about to go insane. Ive done dvd backups before and never had a problem, until now. We are moving so I want to backup our dvds in case something happens to them. Im trying to backup my sisters workout videos and my motorcycle videos. Every burned video says, remove disk playback option may not be available on this disk. Its says this is not a dvd when I try and play it through Nero Showtime. Ive burned 4 disks, 2 on different name brands. My second problem is the menus. I got tired of wasting disks so I made iso's to test them. When I load the iso, it plays the warnings and goes to the menu, problem is I cant select an option. You know how if you hover your mouse over one of the menus it will highlight, wel its not doing that. I hope you guys can help me. Sorry for the great wall of text. --How I ripped and burned-- 1st try(the way I always do it). Rip w/DVDFAB to the HDD (Full Disk). Load DVD Shrink, select open files, select video_ts folder, click backup, auto burns with Nero. 2nd try. Rip w/DVDFAB to HDD this time as iso. Load ImgBurn, burned to disk. 3rd try. Rip and burn with DVD Shrink. 4th. Rip w/DVDFAB to HDD (like 1st time), then loaded Nero, create dvd, added files, burned. ------------------------- Windows XP SP2 Nero 6 DVDFAB HD 4.1.2.0 ImgBurn 2.4.1 DVD Shrink 3.2 Need any more info just ask.
You should be able to back them up with DVD Shrink by it self. Do not reaurthur the movie to back up the main movie only, back up the entire thing. You can uncheck the different languages and stuff you dont need. As for the DVDFab questions someone else will have to pick up there. Best of luck to you.
I dont re-author because I want the full disk. Which is less than 4gb. I did try with just DVD Shrink, still goofed up.
There has to be something your doing other than just backing the disk up to delete the menus, like backing up only the main movie.
Yeah Im 90% sure its me. Found something new. If i load the iso in Nero it stays at menu screen, open in MPC it stays at menu screen for 2 mins then just starts chapter 1 by itself. If I use vlc everything works fine. I know you can open anything up on a pc, just odd I thought.
Which dvd player? If I put it in a standalone dvd player it says, please remove disk, the playback option may not be available on this disk. If I put it in my pc's dvd rom, it loads the dvd player, but stays frozen for about a min, then says its not a dvd.
