Maybe he's got an 8v2 or 9 liteon.

I flashed a benq, hitachi, samsung and liteon 7 on the same day and the first 3 took around 10 minutes, and the liteon 7 maybe 12-13 minutes.

If you want to include the time it took for delivery on a ck3, via card + install it in pc though, maybe 3 days.

My first drive was a MS28, before JF. Was using iprep with a floppy, whole process took me about 15 minutes. Now with JF it takes about 5 minutes.

Took me a few days. First I had to read up on the best way to flash it. And using the search engine here gave me old posts with the Iprep way. But after a bit of reasearch, all the right software and the right SATA drives, it was good to go. When every thing is configured and you are for example going to upgrade the FW it will take about 5-10 mins like Wabashman said.

but it takes at least 10-20 mins to get the thing out of the case, thats what I don't want to do..that is the hard part..tearin the thing apart to get to the hard drive. then my lack of ever doing it before would kick in and I would be annoyed...definitely pay someone to do it..they only charge like 20 bucks..

it does not take 10-20 minutes to get the drive out of the case. only takes about 3 when you have the proper tools.

    This is correct.

It's amazing how everybody gives similar answers, yet he refuses to believe it.

This is assuming that you are properly set up: PC has the correct sata card/port, and Jungle Flasher is up and running, correct drivers installed, etc.

I am using an Xecuter Connectivity Kit 3 and an Xecuter Probe II.

    It takes me:
3 minutes to get the drive out of the 360.

BenQ -------------- 2-3 minutes to get the key and flash iXtreme.
Lite-On 73850 ----- 3-4 minutes to probe to get the key and flash iXtreme.
Lite-On 84850 ----- 3-4 minutes to get the key and flash iXtreme.
Lite-On 84850 v2 -- 6-8 minutes to cut traces, get the key, flash iXtreme, re-solder traces.
Lite-On 93450 ----- 6-8 minutes to cut traces, get the key, flash iXtreme, re-solder traces.

    2 minutes to re-assemble the 360.

    13 - 15 minutes maximum (for the "difficult" Lite-On 84850 v2/93450)

It depends on how much you know about pcs before reading the tutorial. For people who've never bothered to learn the ins and outs of how pcs work software wise, then they will find it more difficult to comprehend the tutorials. So it will take them longer. However, the guide points you step by step so there isn't much learning involved. It's not as if you have to write the firmware. I wouldn't know much about computers and I haven't been bothered to learn a whole lot but my brother has been programming since he was 10 years old and has a degree in computer science so I just got him to flash my drive. Hence the reason I'm using Linux Ubuntu right now. It pays to know a programmer. However, he has no interest in games which is a pity because he could contribute a lot more to the mod-scene if he did. Anyway, flashing isn't difficult and once you have the connectivity kit and the probe hooked up and a via chipset in your computer running Windows, it's just a matter of using jungleflasher to extract the original firmware and rewrite the customised firmware. Just don't stick the probe in the wrong place.

"So how long did it take you to learn how to flash your 360?"

Beq 1.3 was my first flash

    1. 1 min to read a tutorial
    2. 15 mins first time pulling it apart "being careful"
    3. 10 mins following a video walkthru
    4. 4 mins putting it back together "being careful"

    = 30 minutes

---> If you put a stop watch on most of the experts that have a dedicated computer for flashing 10-15 minutes is easily obtainable. Who's in that much of a hurry thou ;)

It took me about 40 minutes. I had to probe the drive and stuff which is a hard task for one person simply because I don't have 4 hands. With someone helping it would have taken about 20 minutes.
