ok... So go out and I buy this cable for my tv......

I connect it and remove the component cables that are currently connected.. the TV recognizes the new cable cause when I selected the new source, it displayed HDMI on the top left... But I didn't get a picture.. Instead I got the blue screen saying "Weak Signal"... So I switched the cable around and this time I get "Check Cables"... I wiggle around the connection on each end... Nothing.. I switch the cables around again and this time, it's not being recognized at all cause the HDMI input is greyed out in the menu..

Did I buy the wrong cable? Does anyone have any suggestions?

What are you connecting to the t.v. via this HDMI cable? If it's a DVD player, did you set the output on the player to HDMI?

    oopps... forgot to mention that...

I'm hooking up my HD Directv box.. model # H20

Also, I want to mention the following....

I want to buy a HDMI cable that is going to be compatible with the box and the PS3... I have the PS3, but will be opened up till X-Mas by my son (he doesn't know I have it)...

    Thank you for any help!!!

Unless there is something wrong with the cable itself, HDMI cables should all be compatible. My guess is that there is something that needs to be set within the box, possibly in the setup menu? You may want to call Directv customer support. Sorry I couldn't be more help, I've got cable. Perhaps someone else will pick up on this thread.
