So why is a network adapter needed for HDD Loader?

    just curious and I couldnt find this question posted on the board??

    throwing in extra $30 for something I dont even use is kind of silly

    because the hd connects to the network adaptor, and the adaptor connects to the ps2. There is nothing to plug the hd into on just the ps2.

    the network adapter has quite a few things and uses...

    it can be used to connect to the net usign the ps2

    it can also use pc to ps2 transfers

    it can power up hdd connected via the inner connections of the adapter aka the 5v connection and ide connection

    it also can be used in lan games

    so you dont really buy it for one thing... you buy it for few things... (^_^)
