can anyone tell me if it is any good and can i hook it up to pc

 

as far as I am aware you can, but to flash firmware, dont think there is a lot that can be done with these boxs, better off looking at the edison box, built in mpeg 4 cable tuner, its a PVR box also, slip a HD or mem stick on and you can record and view on different tuners, pulls in the DTT chans using a an aerial or a hanger in the back, the sat side of it is HD, so you will pick up all the FTA chans including the HD chans such BBC and ITV etc

about 200 plus chans including terrestrial chans such as RTE, TV3 etc in near digital quality (DTT)

 

so that is my best bet to buy an edison box u sure you can get rte on it

no worries dave, yip that will get RTE using the terrestrial tuner and sat chans on the sat tuner, tested the box works brilliant

another hd box is the sab titan 2 combo {s900} sat and dtt having a play around with an iomega 1tb hard drive ,box price around e225.
- 2 card reader and 2 common interface

- Media player

 

Just to let people know , there seems to be a problem recently with the EPG on the Edision for RTE terrestrial.
It shows the program name but the Description/Details is not appearing anymore.
This has just stopped working it the last few days ...
