Socket 754 vs Socket 939?

    I'm going to buy some parts to build a new PC tonight. I inderstand 754 is obsolete, but what PC part isn't after a week? ;)

    What will a socket 939 AMD 64 3500+ processor give me for the extra $100 it will cost over a socket 754 amd 64 3700+ processor? I need to be sure it's worth the extra money.

    upgradeability that the 754 won't give you plus can get pci/e slot that might not be on the 754 board
