ok iam gonna follow this post to softmod my xbox http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/311710 but i wanna upgrade the hd to an 80 gig i have. i wont be playing xbox live i just want it to play movies and music and maybe a few game back ups. so i wanna know can i put my new hd in and then softmod it or what ?
Use any exploit to get your eeprom.bin file. Once you do that you can turn your xbox off. Follow these instructions, it's probably the easiest way to mod. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/670455 Oh one more thing, if you want your game saves copy e: udata and tdata. Then when building the xboxhdm cd just drop those two folders into E in the linux folder. If you have any questions let me know.
