I recently soft modded my xbox and was wondering if there would have been any advantages to modding it with a chip please give list of things you can't do with soft mod and things you can't do with hardmod also is it possible to take out the xbox hd and put in a bigger hd if i have a soft modded xbox I know you can if it is hard modded but I have never found directions on how to do it if you have a soft modded xbox also i have multible movies downloaded from ares i burnt them each on there own cd using nuro's make your own movie thing I had to make a menue for each movie and it took 2 and half hours for each to burn and now my xbox won't play them unless i go to the ms dash is there a way to get the normal dash that i am using (unleashed X) to play these movies one more? i put a game on the harddrive already and i played it but once i am doen is there any way i can get back to the unleashed x dash without turning the xbox off then back on again its kinda frustrating thank you so much i have way to many ? on one post but whatever please help me out here
1: As far as i know the only real benifit of a hard mod is that it is more stable. Otherwise hard and soft mod are basically the same. 2. YES, you can put in a new HDD, i have a 320 gig in my softmodded xbox, but you need to extract the EEPROM and do a few other fancy things. I wont explain them here because there are many tutorials on this site already about how to do it, search for them. 3. you should be able to "launch DVD" from Unleash X and that should run the movies, otherwise i have no idea why it wouldn't be working. 4. I think Unleash X does have a special combination of buttons you press to reboot, but i use XBMC as my dash so i don't know for sure and as such could be completlely wrong. Hope this helped
My tutorials will show you almost everything you need to know, but to clarify: 1) Softmods are identical to Hardmods with the exception that there is a different process to change the HDD. 2) My tutorials show you how to do it, quite easy in fact! 3) XBMC 4) Hold (L Trigger + R Trigger) and then press (Start + Back) all at the same time! This is called IGR (In Game Reset)!
thank you so much i will get xbmc on there pretty soon i have to get myself a crossover cable and then i will find myself a bigger harddrive to put in to thanks i will check out your tutorials
