Hey guys. i had the most stupidest of days 2day. Well i was up all last night tryna softmod my xbox (i had an xbox memory card connected to usb acting as AR and a female usb in controller) not important. anyhoo i got it somewhere around 3 am and fell asleep feeling like a champ. i woke today and realised my screen was black and white. nuts i thought . i decided i may try to reinstall the mod, after uninstalling i couldnt reinstall...error...action...name or sumtin like that. i searched the web and came to the conclusion that some of the initial install was still on the xbox. in one of the folders. in a rush, typically late for work, i searched the folders on my modded dashboard. in the E drive i noticed some cache files. thinking that was the prob i deleted them, the whole drive...this is where the stupidness kicks in. the xbox gave a #13 error. whatever, went to work. came back to an error #16. more googling and decided the answer was to dload slayer and xboxhdm to reinstall. only prob is i have a laptop and cant access the ide...without breaking a second machine in one day! is there another way? i was thinking of buying a new xbox. i use it for dvds n stuff, plus came from malaysia with lotsa burned games. its kinda a necessity. in that case could i use the new xbox to bring this one back to life??? then sell it on or use it for sumtin cool like [insert hack idea here]. need ur help! thanks people. technology u made my enemies list!

you can use the xbox for surfing the web(linksboks i think) or use xbmc to view nice lady "content" from your pc d;D
No no, thats not how you do it. There is an easier way to fix Error #13 because I had the same problem. It took me a week to fix it. didn't know what I was doing. First go on Xbins or Xbox Scene and get the original Xbox Dashboard corresponding to your Xbox version (1.0-1.6b,1.7,download it. Then go to Xbox Scence and get the Xbox Hard Drive maker (this program is for the PC so make sure you have the most updated drivers for your computer) then take your Xbox HArd drive and plug it into the computer. Restart and go to your Computer BIOS settings and make sure the "boot from drive: " is enabled but with the corresponding letter for which ever the Xbox HD and the CD-ROM is installed in. After you've booted up from the Xbox Hard drive Maker. Because you needed to burn it to a disc or a floppy WITH the XBox Dashboard burned with it also. After that, you select format on the XBOX HARD DRIVE, it should take a while but when its done select the option, like Make new Hard Drive on the xbox. It will make all the files and folders but all your saved games will be gone. Im sorry. After that put your XBOX dashboard on the HArd Drive from the Xbox Hard Drive Maker program and VIOLA, its fixed. This make be hard to understand the first time but read it over and over again and you'll understand.
good work dude. sounds like a lotta steps but i'll get to it as soon as i can. i only have a laptop so some probs connecting hard drive to it. but got the aid disc and stuff so will be done when i figure who's computer to use. thanks for the replys
