Today after successfully softmodding an xbox using SID's and my other modded xbox to transfer game saves, I (like an idiot) used slayer's auto installer because it works with my older softmodded xbox for some reason but totally screwed the new xbox's soft mod. I used mechassault without a hitch until i ran slayers now it just comes up with ms dash. it will read mechassault but when I try to run linux from the games save it now takes me from mechassault to the error 21 service required screen. I have tried reading everything I can about this error and all roads seem to lead down hotswapping. I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to get my xbox back to original state so i can run the soft mod again. 1. I Do Not have the Eeprom. 2. I do have a fully functional xbox(softmodded) 3. I have a laptop only! 4. I do have an external ide hard drive kit > usb. Any help would be great.
the Auto Installer Deluxe disk (AID disk) offers a hdd restore and a softmod installment feature. plus you get all kinds of other useful stuff like emulaters and such. theres a tut for making it here, I'm pretty sure its stickied, give me a verdict once you figured out what you want to do.
