I've been softmodding for a while and I just got a huge hard drive to put in my Xbox. I bought it off line with the MS Dashboard Already on it and ready to go. Stupid me thought that that’s all I needed.
Its blinking red and green with a 5 error code. So it needs to be locked right? Can someone please point me to a good tutorial or at least in the right direction.
I know I’m noobin' it up here guys and I’m sorry about that.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.

I usually use Splinter Cell to mod. Thanks again.

I think you should use the xboxhdm to lock your hdd. However you need to know your eeprom and hdd key.

Then you also need to know your eeprom and follow the xboxhdm tutorial to lock your hdd.

Ok I got everything working and I got the eeprom from my E\udata and put it in the Eeprom folder (xboxhdm/linux/eeprom/). When I get the hard drive maker going and I go into 3 and type lockhd –a. Then it starts the ‘Looking for CD-ROM in /dev/had’ all the way down to ‘hdt’. Then comes back with ‘Linux CD not found! Insert it and try again…’ ???
What am I doing wrong? Do I need to do something with the eeprom or just pull it to that folder and its good to go? Also I backed up My C:/ and put it on the cd too just to be safe. Please help. Thanks.

OK try the same method but put the eeprom on a floppy ... I don't know why its saying Linux CD not found , weird .....P.S. If you can make another win.bat.iso but put the eeprom on a floppy and leave the epprom folder empty in xboxhdm/linux/eeprom ... when it asks for eeprom to lock HD just put the floppy with the epprom in the floppy drive

Ok. I’ve Got it!! Its in and working, thanks a lot for all the help guys. One more thing, now I can’t get the left over GIGS to flow over to the G drive. I thought that it would just flow over on it own. I’ve got the 130 gigs in my F: drive. But I have 300 Gig Hard drive. How do I get the 170 gigs in my G: Drive?
    Thanks again everybody!

Ok I’m using Splinter Cell. I using Krayzie Tools. I go into dashboard settings, then storage it says “Enable Drive G No” so I make it yes and save and exit. When I come back there is still no G drive in the list of drives. After I modded I go to format G: drive, it says “format anything over 130 gig. All information on the G drive will be lost” I say cool nothings on it anyway let format this Sucka! But it still won’t work.
I everywhere I look it ether shows no G drive or in evox it shows ‘G: 0’. ?????

everything is up and running!! Thanks so much for everyone’s help. I just have one more little question (no biggy).
When I put the 300 gig in I had to update my files by going on live. That was no prob. but now after I got it all modded up I can't get online with the original game and a cold boot (which always works). Now where is the prob. is it the 300 gigs that’s doing it. If so why was I able to get on live to get the updates. It should not be the mods because I've got on live with the same mods with the stock hard and I have another xbox with the stock drive and the mods and I can get on live with that still.
    Just wondering if somebody knew.
Again Guys Thanks for all your Help!

Its pretty simple ... Just Uninstall the Softmod , Keep F: and Stuff .... It will bring it to normal MS dash and use the Xbox Live Account Recovery . After you Recover your Account! , Just reinstall the Softmod. :)
