Softmod Problems

Hopefully someone can help, I have softmodded loads of xboxs without errors,but a mates as been alright for months but now all the xbox does is boot up, it trys to connect to xbox live update, it does nothing else, it wont read any disks. Is there a way to get it back to retail without hotswapping.

 

what kind of softmod did you install and does the HD Make a clicking noise???

 

I think its the SID one, hd drive isnt making a clicking sound

 

i dunno never ran into this problem before, only thing i can think of it hotswapping or getting a chip....

 

k, thanks, I think the person whose xbox it is tried to connect to xbox live even though I told them not too
