The problem is the installation CD has files on it that are
needed to install or copy the program to another computer.
The only real way to do what you want is to get another
    copy of the installation CD.
The files on the hard drive to run the program simply wont be
enough, and wont allow you to re-install the software.
(Either on the old computer or the existing one.)
If you cant obtain the original installation cd you could
possible use software like Maxtor's Drive transfer,
(or the easytransfer program you listed before).
These programs will allow to you to copy your existing HDD to a new one.
The problem lies in this will be in a NEW computer and may
cause conflicts with driver issues and such since the OS
will be copied as well and the new computer specs will not
be the same as the old one.
    (differnt MOBO and peripherials ect...)

The only real way to make it work is to get the original
    and re-install.

nop, even if you had Maxtor's Drive transfer or the easytransfer or an other super files transfer, the software wont work, softwares arent like games that means in softwares, a part of the files goes into the system files and these files are NOT reachable unlike games if you use one of transfering programs there wont be a problem it will work perfectly.
as i said try to get the cd or if its a freeware or youve already got registration information etc...
