i'm a real newbie in this field, so please be patient, i don't know where in the forums i can find the answer. I would like to convert video files obtained by a JVC camcorder (the extension is .mod) to an appropriate format for uploading to youtube (I imagine the standard could be mp4, but i'm not sure). Is there any free software that can help me convert the original file into a small size one (mp4 or else) and, hopefully, make some basic editing (cut some scenes etc.). the result should comprise video+audio, as it's about a music performance. Thanks.
