software to erase harddrives

    is there a site that has great software to erase hard drives (free If at all Possible)
    others wise what would you reccomend.

    delete partition, create new partition & regular format several times if drive is going to be sold to somebody else.

    i have this program i got from work that can wipe a hard drive clean i think they got it from freedos.oeg

    It is called diskpart in windows...not free, but included.

    repartition and format a few times.. hahaha.. and 2 minutes later somebody like me has 90% of the old data back..

    it's called active@killdisk .. thats what you need.. and it's free!!

    It isn't like you should ever sell hard drives anyway; recovery is often possible even after multiple zero-fills...even random fills are not a guarantee.
