does it matter what wattage i have on my soldering iron? it says 25 should be good but i have a 45 will that ruin it?:S
If you use a 45 watts be sure that you're good at soldering because if you try too much at the same place at this wattage then you could easily lift a trace or burn a transistor
Ok so I'm not saying that 45 won't work but I can't tell you to go with it since I used 30 watts and xbox-scene.com reccomends 15 as you can see in this text Absolute must-have equipment: 15-Watt Soldering Pencil with Grounded Tip $7.99 RSCN 64-2051 A "soldering iron" will NOT do - the tips are too large, the power output is often way too high, and the irons themselves are rarely grounded. Spend the eight bucks and save yourself the $200 for a new Xbox.
did u use an iron or a pencil thign this guy is talkign about....cause i already compared sizes and i think i can do it with the iron and does absolutely HAVE to be grounded?
I used a pencil but I think you need to use one since the iron is sending electrical current within the iron... I'm not quite sure about that... check out www.xbox-scene.com maybe in the tutorials/general they have something more precise for you
will using the iron screw over my box in any way? if not then ill be fine with it i dont see how a little current (even if thereis one) could hurt anything
