I've found the easiest way to stop the freezing of XP with that card is with the drivers. I've been dealing with this freezing issue since trying to use jungle flasher. With the exception of hitachi 78k after it's in mode b everything else has froze the minute the drive powered on. I finally found a true solution with just installing different drivers until finding one that stops the freezing. I want to say that each Xbox drive may have to use a different driver but I haven't had enough experience with the drive to make that assumption. I'm hoping I found the driver that will work for all of them I'll know by my next test.
Sadly I have so many I can't exactly remember the one I used I can give you what the version is in device manager. Ver. 5.1.6000.581 Date: 7/10/2008 Hope that helps. It did freeze at first but after a couple of seconds it was fine and everything was went smooth.
