Hi, i have an official 360 20gb harddrive, however i just have the harddrive and have lost all the casing. What i wish to know is either:

Where can i buy replacement casing INCLUDING all the springs, the cable etc.

    Or

Can i plug this into an external sata enclosure, connect it to my 360 via usb and read/save gamesaves to it once i have done so. It has the original formatting etc. its just i took apart the case one day and lost the rest of it.

    Thanks,
    james

u could probably find a broken HDD on ebay that might still have the enclosure for it.

As for connecting it through USB, you can't do that at all! It can only read Media files on the HDD, it can do saves on it!

    Ok cheers.
I have looked for faulty ones on ebay but they are going for similar prices to working ones.

Also i read that you can only play media through usb but i thought that maybe as it is an official 360 hdd with the original partitioning it might work through usb for game saves.

    Thanks again,
    james

Thinking about perhaps going the soldering route and internalizing my harddrive to save money. However i am not very experienced at soldering, any tips?

    Thanks,
    james

If you don't have a steady hand, get something to hold the soldering iron so that it doesn't shake!

Thanks for the link but with those case you still need the original case and you need some of the parts from it.

    Thanks anyway,
    james
