    Hi There,

First of all Merry Christmas and secondly, let me say how great it is to have found this site. I only hope there is someone who could spare me a few minutes to help me out with my new Ipod!

I have only just installed the Ipod CD that comes with it when purchased. I am now working out the best way to download songs and from what i undestand (please correct me if i am wrong) I can become a member of Napster and then convert the files into something else (so NOT computer savy!) and listen to music that way. If this is the case could anyone help me out with some instructions.

If you have any better (AND SAFE!) ideas please feel free to share - looking foward to hearing allll about it and cannot wait to start using this beautiful new "toy" of mine!

Congratz on your new iPod. I got one for christmas too and I have been using Limewire to download music for it. Like all other P2P connections there is a risk of getting a virus. I have been using Limewire for almost a year now and have had no problems. I'm thinking you get viruses if you download things other then music. My biggest problem with Limewire is that it doesn't always come with the album cover/info, but other then that it's great.

Most of the tunes found on limewire are all MP3s (or rarely WMAs) which both play on the iPod. So, you can just get on download them and trasfer them to iTunes and they will transfer to your iPod.

.wma files actually do not play on the iPod, there are only a few on limewire anyway. if you import a .wma in iTunes, it will convert them into mp3 for you anyway, so you've no need to worry :)

By the way, DO NOT USE NAPSTER, as you won't be able to play them on your iPod or burn them onto a cd. Use Limewire for unlimited, unrestricted mp3's! =)
