i have searched on the forums but couldnt find an answer so i have posted this - sorry if it has already been asked.

some of the backups i have work fine and ok; some dont - i get the black screen saying clean the disc etc.
i am doing the exact same thing with each backup etc so i am at a loss for the reason some dont work.
do i need to re-flash my unit?

    any help greatly appreciated.

    hi - thanks for that.
i dont actually do the discs - i get them from my mate; he uses verbatims and imgburn. i have a hitachi drive.

its just strange that some of the discs work and some dont. do you think if i tried cleaning the laser it may help.

    thanks again.

Never hurts to clean the laser ask you mate if he burns all the disks at the same speed? Burn mine at 4x never had a problem yet some people have been known to have problems burning at higher speeds just a thought

Do you happen to know what firmware you're running on your Hitachi? Might help to update to the latest.

you need to stealth patch them if you are using ixtreme firmware.

Rip the iso to your hdd (don't use CCD to rerip). Then use XDVDMulleter to insert the pfi, dmi, and video iso. Once XDVDM shows the iso as iXtreme compatable, then reburn.

Where do I get the .pfi .dmi and video iso from? Or can XDVDMMulleter extract them for me?

Don't suppose you could extract the ss, dmi, pfi, video info from the ISO file, and add it back in for stealth compatibility? Would really suck in my situation if that's not possible.
