Hi guys I'm having a few probs with the box this morning if any of you have some suggestions.

Basically I turned on the tv for the kids awhile ago and noticed lots of the channels are very choppy and pixelated. I've only checked the kids channels at the minute because if I turned them off there would be roaring and crying lol.

One minute the channel is ok, then it becomes choppy and then becomes ok again. Some of the channels are ok and a few are bad.

Any suggestions on what could be the problem here ?

Any suggestions would be great :)

    Thanks
    Sandisk

I just noticed s*y sports 1 and some other channels are like this too.

A few minutes ago a msg came up on the screen the said "auto updating" and when finished it said "complete" and then the stations came back on but the quality is still very poor.

What version of firmware do you have on it?

The latest is 4.50 for Ireland, and 4.51 for UK.

Both can be downloaded from the eko link at the bottom of my post. Go into The Box, then Firmware.
You will also need the gt-rom loader program, which you can get from the StarView > Software folder, and a null modem cable, which you should have received in the box.

    CC - Cable Company,

The Box will only perform as good as its signal, so if the signal is any weak or if your CC is working on something it will effect the pic or sound, they usually right themselves after a while so I wouldnt worry about it.

    Thanks for the reply.

I was just about to do a factory reset there and a new channel dump but I'll hold off on that now.

Thanks for that info and hopefully it does fix soon enough as the kids have my head wrecked lol.

I'm using 4.5 software is that correct? As far as I know it's the latest anyway. It was already installed on the box when i got it and I only bought it last week :)

The reception "seems" to be ok now as I'm writing this lol.

    Thanks for the help.
