I'm currently trying to demux an m2ts file with VC-1/AC3 streams in order to use mkvmerge for a working .mkv file.

However, even though mkvtoolnix/mkvmerge claims to support VC-1 everywhere I've read about it online, it flat out will not accept .vc1 files.

Now, here's the problem. I try using MeGUI to open the .m2ts and get a .MKV file (just like with mkvmerge, it claims to support VC-1, yet will not load the .vc1 file, only the .m2ts). Unfortunately, for some reason MeGUI likes to double the resulting file size with anything (in this case from ~12GB to ~25GB) unless I absolutely butcher the quality, and then the file still comes out bigger.

If anyone has a reliable VC-1 to .mkv method for me that doesn't end in me pulling my hair out, I would be much obliged.

And in case anyone is wondering, yes, I have codecs installed to view VC-1 video, and it works just fine.

My version doesn't accept raw VC1 v2.2.0, you might want to double check that. Also, if you must keep it VC1 you may need to mux to wmv, I'm pretty sure there is a wmv muxer out there.
