I am getting very frusterated! Some of my movies (AVI, MKV)have a greenish discoloration AND a wide flickering greenish bar running verticaly down left side of the movie. Break Down: WXP Pro MSI Laptop GO Nvidia 6800gt So tonight I was organizing my movies on a few different PCs and I happen to play the same movie on 2 then 3 different PCs and suddenly realized the problem seems to exist only on my laptop!! Nooooo! I had previously thought the problem must exist in the recording or the codecs(which it still might) But Iv tested the problem movies on all my PCs using the exact same freshly installed software (MPC, WMP, VLC etc....) Even on freshly installed OSs and Drivers. Problem always exists. WTH!!!! Could it really be somthing with my hardware (Nvidia). Iv been googling my problem and found someone with a similar problem but it was on a Linux forum. they mentioned something about the movies being encoded with older codecs and it would take a special player that can read it. BUT again.. the problem movies work fine on other PCs!! HELP!!! Iv thrown away so many high quality recordings because of this crap. Now to realize the problem only exists on one of my PCs.
Hi jubatus, Are the drivers for your video card up to date? What are you using to play the files on your laptop? What codecs do you have installed? It could be one or all three are running older versions. I suggest that you update them one at a time and isolate the problem.
