Some questions about modded ps2s and backups

Hi.

I've been thinking of buying a new ps2 and having it modded at a specialty store, but before I do, I'd like to have these questions answered:

1. Is there any specific mod chip I should ask for?

2. Do backups generally play flawlessly or is it more trouble than it's worth (in other words, do games often freeze up or anything)?

3. Are the new slim ps2s less than ideal for playing backups? Should I look for an older model?

I had a v4 ps2 and a slimline, both play my backups perfectly. However, i used the SwapMagic method, not a modchip. But, yah you shouldn't be able to tell the difference playin a backup or original.

 

i also have the fliptop sm3.3 v7, my back ups play great, as long as you use good media.i cant recommend a mod chip, as i dont have one.

 

look for something like matrix infinity or the messaih 2 modchip
