i have got one of my tv shows and have four episodes encoded into dvd format but i would also like to try and add a menu along with them to give it a better look when watching. ive tried adding my avi files into nero recode and make a menu on there but most of the time the final product will be out of sync so if someone could give a step by step guide on how to make good menus with audio if possible i will be grateful.
    thanks in advance

Well first off your Out of Sync problem is totally seperate from your Menu creation problem....

The Video is Probably out of Sync Because most Downloaded AVI files have VBR MP3 audio which will allmost allways go out of Sync after compressing...The way to solve this is to Decompress the audio in your AVI Files before you Put it on DVD....

If you download this tool and Run your AVI through it it will decompress the audio in your AVI so it doesn"t go out of Sync after compressing...

    http://www.megaupload.com/?d=J7HNW11I

It will make your Files much Bigger but that will not affect how much video you can Fit on a DVD or the DVD file size....

As for Creating a Menu were you can select which Movie you want to watch or scene selections were you can select which Chapter you want to go to then you are going to have to use a Real Proper DVD authoring Program.....

If you want to go the easiest Route then you can use something like "Nero Vision express" or "Ulead DVD Movie Factory" which will allow you to add menu"s and Chapters and Scene selections and it will also compress your AVI files to DVD Format for you But the Quality will not be nearly as good as if you were to use a Good Quality Standalone Encoder Like "Tmpgenc Pluss" or "MainConcept encoder" to Compress your AVI files to DVD Compliant Mpeg-2 files and then use a Good DVD authoring Program Like "MediaChance DVDLab Pro" to add your Menu"s and Chapters and scene selections and to Format it all and Burn the DVD.....

If you allready have each Episode encoded to Mpeg-2/Vob format and just want to add a Menu and Links and Chapters then you can Load them into a DVD authoring program Like the Ones I allready mentioned and add your Menu"s abd Chapters and Burn to DVD.....

There should be Guides on how to use these Programs in the Guides section of this site...

    Cheers

I have No Idea what the Problem is as I have never seen that Happen Before when useing the Decompress.exe tool....You get that error/Message in V-Dub when your AVI files are Corrupted or have a Corrupted Header....

You can also decompress the audio useing V-Dub...What you do is Load you AVI into V-Dub and set the Video to "Direct Stram Copy" and set the "Audio" to "Full Processing Mode" and then go to "File" to "Save as AVI" and save the File ..........

Try it that way and see if you get better results.....

No, You don"t need to use the Decompress.exe if you do it with Virtual-Dub...i have just Found that the Decompress.exe is more reliable than v-Dub when decompressing the audio But V-Dub usually works also....

    Cheers

PS: I don"t think DVD-Santa will let you Make Nice menu"s and chapters and scene selections, I believe it just makes basic DVD"s but I could be wrong...
