i have and xenium gold chip, and i upgraded my hard drive to a 160GB hitachi deskstar and now when i try to play spintercell CT it wont load same with golden eye rouge agent... i think it is only the live games that wont play... i can play other non live games... i can play playboy mantion (stupid game) but it plays... what should i do?
they arent even burned on my hard drive... it freezes in the loading screen if i use the disc and if i copy it on the hard drive... i tried both...
Does this happen with the retail copies of those games? Have you tried playing them with the chip disabled? If you're using back-ups and they aren't working on disc, then they're probably bad rips and you need to make a new one.
all games are original, and all games played with the chip and the original hard drive... just not the upgraded hard drive
When you installed the upgraded hard drive, you formatted it and everything, right? So it has all the necessary partitions (C, E, X, Y, Z)?
well i guess it isnt just live games because i can play halo 2... so i guess it just plays what it wants to... im clueless, please help...
yes i did format the drive and yes it does have all of the partitions... i used my xenium os to copy my old drive to the new one... but i dont understad becuase it plays some games and others it doesnt even try... i just freezes in the loading screen, if it even gets that far...
Well, I'm out of ideas. Provided that the hard drive was properly formatted and partitioned, it should have been fine.
I seem to recall some specific troubles with those games. I can't think of what, but I could swear I've heard of extra protections on them. I can verify for a fact that Ubisoft games on PS2 have stronger protection than most, and are much harder to use with a HD loader type setup. This isn't directly connected, but does lean more towards extra protections. Is there anything in your HDD's cache folders? And what dashboard are you using? Less relevant, but still possibly having *some* effect, are you trying to use any(even slight) modifications or hacks/trainers to the games(Whether they were there before or not)?
i have deleted everything in the cache folders, and i havent modified the games at all, i dont know how to do that... i have unleashx dashboard bios ver. m8plus_16(ver. 1.6 xbox) i have reformatted and recopied the HD several times.... i can play any game with my original HD and m8plus_16 bios and unleashx dashboard but as soon as i copy all of that to my new drive i cant play some of my games...

Im having the same problem. I have a Maxtor 300gb Ultra ATA 133 7200RPM model number #L01R300. With my regular softmod hdd, games work fine. With this upgrade hdd, all of my games are now freezing. IS THERE A WAY TO FIX THIS?????
