Ok I have been trying to burn DVDs for a MONTH now with only limited success. My DVD Burner is a LITEON SOHW-1693S (NEWEST 16X BURNER). I used DVD Decrypter and CLONEDVD2 to copy a movie. Everything seems fine until I get towards watching the end of the movie. Towards the latter part of the dvd (maybe final 1/4 of the dvd) The video get pixalated and the audio goes out of sync with the scene. I was told in order to fix this problem I had to download the Lite-on utility called "Booktype 135" and change the burn format to DVD-ROM....this program is also called lite on bit setting utility.....this DID NOT fix the problem!!!!! I am going crazy here trying to figure out what I am doing wrong and I beg anyone out there thats farmiliar with this type fo thing to please help me. Could the problem be that I am playing the DVDs on an 4+year old DVD player??? Maybe the problem is the media I am using(RIDATA 16x DVDS)This shouldnt be happening!!!!PLEASE HELP

I don't use clonedvd2 but if possible set the target size to 4350mb or a little less. What speed are you burning at? Try some different media maybe even some dvd-rw's till problem is resolved. For dvd-rw's try verbatum or sony, for dvd+r's or -r's try verbatum, taiyo yuden, sony, fuji (made in japan) or maxell.

Firmware helps your PC recognize new media and burn speeds, yours was way out of date and lack of update can cause burning problems. Hope your backups are coming out fine now.

What format are your blank ridata 16x media?

The booktyping usually helps on the compatability of more standalone players recognizing your backups.Plus format is the only format that can be booktyped.

You might want to try a laser lens cleaning disc in that older stand alone player. Try those problematic backup copies in some friends/relatives players to see if they have the same issues.

I agree with mort81,you may even want to take that backup target size to 4300 mbs/reduce the compression to as little as possible and try a few burns at 2.4x.

The Ridata Blanks are DVD+R, Ive reduced the burn speed to a mere 4x and I dont know how to change the target size using CloneDVD2

Ok I searched around CloneDVD2 for a bit and found a spot that allows you to change the target size. Thing is it seems its already set to 4300 ......makes me wonder maybe these Ridata 16X DVD + R are complete junk ....I just wish I knew that before I purchased 100 of these things :((( ....If I decided to change the target size to lets say 4200 would that make the picture look like complete garbage???
