I have pre-installed Sonic Record Now version 7.2 on my computer, however, when i burn audiobook cds (music cds are fine) i often get the chipmunk effect where the speed on playback is greatly increased, i would like to set the bitrate to 44.1khz to remedy this, is this possible using Sonic? As a novice any idiot-proof and dumbed down tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
The fix is uninstall sonic. You can use imageburn which is shareware or some other descent burning software. I have only seen sonic mentioned in how do I fix this queries and I have seen too many of those. I would suggest you purchase PowerAmp Converter to do your ripping if you can spare $25/year on ripping and converting. There is a 30 day free trial. You do not know what you are missing. The files ARE your music. You will never be sorry for using the top of the line encoding system. The yearly cost is for the subscriptions. You get all sorts of paid for services that make your job so much easier. Accu-rip will tell you if your reader read the CD correctly. This is great for scratched CDs. You will know which tracks were ripped perfectly and which were not. This give you a chance to resurface the CD and re rip the less than perfect tracks. The other handy service is the American Music Ass database for CD info. It is 100 times the size of freeDB. For 50 cents a month it can save you lots of typing.
