sonic recordnow wont burn :'(

    well my sonic recordnow reads the dvd and as soon as i press burn it spits out the dvd and say it cannot be read, im downloading nero as we speak to see if its the software or the dvd drive itself, but its just over 12mnth old, when warranty rns out eh :( any ideas?, thanks guys in advance
