I know alot of us have been using the tools he makes which is PS2 related, and even using Apache latest version was created for all the systems. Not that long ago I seen a site closure notice, which is not a good sign for Sonix. If there is a way to help Sonix, wouldn't you try to help out.Well how much time and work do you think he puts into the programs he makes, trust me it is time consuming and hard work.It might be possible to help him keep his site alive by donating, and this is not a site I want to see get shut down.I don't know maybe this is just me,but I think we need to help him out.To lose the Great Sonix is not on my agenda, and he helps out as much as he can when it comes to backing up games. If this is wrong then sorry, just want to keep everyone that helps out when it comes to backing up games.

    Peace L-Burna

is it closing down because he cant afford it anymore or because he is on a hitlist?if they are shutting him down for legal reasons theres not much that can be done to save the site.but if he is running into financial problems then of course donations would be in order.

It is from financial reasons, good thing you mentioned that though. He said he couldn't get enough donations to keep it alive. It could make Apache fall this just guessing on my part, not really sure at the moment to be honest what all he is going through.I respect him with all the hard work he has done supplying tools for all of us to use to backup our games. If it was for legal reasons, your right bro there is nothing we could do to help him out but financially we could help him right.

Yeah I agree with you bro about putting your credit card number on the internet. You can donate by using NoChex or PayPal account, but if you use PayPal you will have to enter in a credit card number.PayPal is pretty safe though, alot of people will use PayPal but NoChex is probably what you need.

i dont know about any of that stuff.do i go to the uk backup tools site to make a donation or what?i think it would help out a lot especially for people like me that dont know anything about making donations if there was a simple explanation on how to do this.i know ive used his software before and greatly appreciated it.so making a donation is no problem but i dont want to have the money misdirected or get scammed by internet hackers.i think more people would donate if things were simplified and understandable.

Yeah I understand the situation man, there is a donation button at the top left of his website backuptools.co.uk .When you donate it will give you an email address so you know exactly who it is going to.Sonix email address is sonix_uk_2001,so if you see an email address that doesn't look like this then you are being scammed.I also think you get a message of approval once you donate.Much appreciated sui-cyco for your generousity,I also feel the same way about Sonix and his hard work.Trust me I'm not trying to scam anyone, just want to keep him and his site alive and it is actually more like a thank you for all the hard work that he has done for us all.

Sorry had to edit out his email address, didn't realise that I did that it is against the rules for me to do that.

not too many people around here know who sonix is i dont believe.maybe you should post in the ps2 dvd backup forum as most people would know of him from there.his double layer backing up tools and apache is what hes best known for and mostly people who backup ps2 games go to him for programs.maybe hit the gt4 ripkit threads.

Yeah not to mention if PS2ModsParadise was hurting also I would donate to them as well.I admit PS2 ripping isn't as easy as it looks, what they provide for us is very complicated to work on to begin with.I respect all of our game rippers in our game console scene, but Sonix has given us alot of support. He is a legend in my eyes with how much effort and work and contributions he has given to us all.I forgot to mention in his latest Apache build that he was making, there was a SDK burning library that I am sure he paid for out of his pocket to help us all out also.If there wasn't enough donations to keep him and his site up and running, and the latest Apache build had this burning ability integrated in it.I can tell from his updates on the program that he was making for everyone he is very dedicated in helping us all out.It costs him money to make an app as good as what he was making, and that is enough support for alot of us to realise how great he is.Not to mention everything else he has already done for us like you mentioned p4_tt the GOW and GT4 tool are amazing.I feel he should have some consideration and be looked at more clearly, because we don't see someone with his potential everyday.Sui_cyco and p4_tt you are very good people for even looking at this thread, because you guys actually understand how important this is for all of us.I would have never made the thread in the first place if I didn't think it was important, but I feel this is a big issue that should be brought up to catch our attention.

Hehe your too kind L-Burna :) Although i never really posted much over at backuptools i always liked nipping into the forums to have a nosey around and it's a very helpful site that's helped me with a good few problems in the past. I just saw that the site will be closing in a few weeks time but as Sonix said he be popping into the good forums which must include aD :)

Maybe sometime in the future Sonix will have another site just as kick ass like the current one is but as we know that may not be for a long time to come due to cost but maybe he can partner up with someone as talented as he is and save a few bucks he and there.

i went ahead and got a paypal account.it seems safe.i just have to wait 2-3 days to make sure my account is secure.so ill make a donation in a few days.

i figured what the hell,i could use paypal to buy some stuff off the net also.only thing i bought online was my swap magic discs and i paid for them by money order.plus signing up for a personal(not business)account is free.

Why are you going to donate now? It's too late he's closing down his site whatever now so it seems like a waste of money to me. He'll still post his stuff on other websites like he posted some of his earlier stuff on ps2nfo (then known as ps2ownz) so I expect he won't stop programming.
