I was real close to clicking the purchase button at Amazon for the Sony 60A2000 for $2199 when I saw the JVC HD-P61R1U at TigerDirect for $1899. All the specs seem very similar for these two, does anyone have a convincing argument for purchasing one over the other?
    Thanks.

Hi, I'm not familiar with the JVC model, but here is a thread on the SXRD models:

Many of us have these sets and are quite happy with them (and biased toward them! LOL!) Some will say the Sony has the best pic for the price. Particularly with that price point at Amazon, no tax and free shipping. Many of us paid well over that. Remember this set, the a2000 models, just came out in June 2006. The 60" was around $3000-$3500 until just a few weeks ago.

No. They both use similar technologies to make pictures. The most interesting thing I have heard about the JVC models is that their bulbs burn-out faster than just about everyone else.
