I already have a Sony 8gb pro duo memory stick that works great. I bought another one and its a shocker. Its slow loading up, when i use the usb mode it reads that the games are in the iso folder but when i go to load them from the menu, they are not there. I feel this memory stick is a lemon. Even when i go to format the memory stick the psp says "No memory stick inserted". It wouldnt matter how many times i format it, its not reading the games. Ive made it a magic memory stick on several occassions and still wont read games. I can copy atleast 2 games onto it and they will work, there after it will transfer more games but will not read the game file.
I think ive done myself out of some money with this Sony 8gb. Does it sound like i have a corrupt memory stick or is there something im not doing?

    lol

its a fake you got ripped off

to check put the memory stick in and go to the memory stick icon on the psp. then click triangle and go to information.

if a fake it will say magic gate: Unknown
if a real it will say magic gate: Supported

if you payed more than £25 for it then you realy got ripped off
where did you get it from if you dont mind me asking?

also if it does say supported (very unlikely) then connect it to the pc and then format it with the computer and format it to FAT32

    hope that helps

Yes it is a fake, and i did get it from ebay ....BUT....i have bought another fake sony 8gb off ebay before and it works perfect, perfect transfer speed, perfect everything. This latest one is a fake also and its crap. What can i say, it boils down to luck!

    much agreed

you have to gamble on fakes

like you i was lucky to get a decent enough fake but i wont risk it next time i come to buy one if you have money to spare i say go for it but i rather have it perfect.

just curiosity what speed are you getting for the good 8gb. i get a max of about 1.4 - 1.7mbps on my fake and i got 5mb on a genuine. i just though i might say because games under 1.2gb run perfect but above that they start to lag it heavy game play.
