Sony Chief Calls PS3 More Than A Console

i don't think the x360 can download full hd movies, blu ray, a web browser, GREAT exclusives, full backwards compatability, HUGE HD, built in wifi, 1080p, integration of full psp!, motion sensing capabilities, free online, more usb ports, cell processor, etc. 87) i'll find more and edit my post.

 

You really like the PS3 huh? What are you going to do with your 360? And on that note what do you think of the 360 (I want one but don't own one).

 

it's ok but have bad and overrated games! i'll probly sell it on ebay or gamestop or keep it.

 

I've heard Perfect Dark isn't the Halo-killer everyone wanted it to be... What are the over-rated games apart from that? I like the look of a Demo my mate had called Condemned...

 

ghost.R had HORRIBLE online, oblivion froze all the time doa4 was fun, GUN sux, cod is ok, ive had alot of games and i havent had them for long cause they're not very good, but the ps3 will just have better titles it will be that simple

 

Oblivion froze huh? Not the first time I've heard complaints about the Xbox version - won't MS release patches and fixes over Xbox Online though? Heavenly Sword will be the first beat 'em up I'll buy since Tekken 3 lol, none have appealed to me over the years - correct that I have Smash Brothers. But yeah can't wait for that one, and I really want FFXIII but XII isn't even out yet lol!! What are they doing to me I can't afford this, my cars leaking 3 kinds of fluids lol!!

No. That was just a sequel to X thus X-2 instead of XII. FFXII is going to be released on PS2, and XIII the first of the PS3 releases. Trust me I've been crowned RPG king by Svtstang himself lol (long story). Here's a link...

download hd movies off live, now thats a waste of time and money. You can bet they will charge for that and it will take ages. It makes more sense to hire them from blockbuster!
This is why i prefer the 360. They have not incorpirated a whole lot of uselesss features just to make the console sound flashy and to appeal to the tech hore who has more money than common sense

True that. There are some bloody good PSX games worthy of a purchase still, and at $5 why not? EBAY has been a good source of old skool games for me, got Vagrant Story for about $8 us (was about 11 AUS) including postage!! By the way I totally agree with you there Tomfitz - down at the local Video Ezy I can hire 5 movies for $8! Why would you waste broadband limit on movies?

Hmmm. Yes i have heard of that one. Pretty rare isn't it? People make a mint of this stuff dude! I have a Snes game called Lufia - box manual and everything in sweet condition. I could get about $120 for it, but I like the damn thing too much lol! I was stoked to get Vagrant Story for 10 buck including postage Game Traders tried to sell me a copy (Ex rental with the book glued to a generic case!!) for 40 bucks. I got my one mint with everything! I love ebay!

 

'full hd movies, HUGE HD, 1080p, blu ray' - Which all boil down to, a 'slightly better' - but mostly unnoticeable resolution.
'a web browser' - Everyone has the internet... surely?
'GREAT exclusives' - DEFINETELY a matter of opinion
'full backwards compatability' - I don't buy a DVD player to watch my old videos.
'built in wifi' - I probably will never notice the difference between this and the 360's wireless connection.
'integration of full psp!' - It plays old looking PS games from a small box?
'motion sensing capabilities' - I don't see this being an advantage in immersiveness UNLESS they bring back Dual Shock.
'free online' - They haven't yet announced to what extent it will be 'free'. If it's totally free be prepared for some low-grade online gaming.
'more usb ports' - what you want to plug into the thing?? hairdryers, phones etc. it's not a power adapter ffs.
'cell processor' - may be better, but probably not noticeably different where it matters (AKA on screen).

And, if they make it as close to a PC as they'd like, you'd probably have to start upgrading within a year to play the new games???

At the end of the day, the ONLY way this will be different from a 360 WON'T be via games (graphically or gameplay-wise), the difference will occur in the PC-like features it incorporates. The other stuff is just barely different technical mumbo-jumbo.

I'm not starting a fanboy argument here, just stating my thoughts on the PS3. Advantages it could have, I would say, is certain PC features (unclear as to what they'll be at the moment), Japanese games (aka Final Fantasy) and MAYBE some cool motion sensing features.

There's no other features at the moment that appear to greatly enhance the experience, but some interesting additions may be included (at that price... they better!).

 

I really hope PS3 owners won;t have to upgrade as if it were a PC - to me the whole beauty of the console is not worrying about minimum requirements and all that BS like with PC's... If I buy a game with a console, I can feel assured it's going to run as intended - unlike with my PC where there is always some problem!! Besides, for 600 US you'd think the thing would be good for atleast a couple of years!
