Sony Dru-500a Which Version Firmware Do I Have?

    My brother has lent me his computer while he is over seas and he has the Dru-500a or AX.

    I was wondering how to tell which firmware version he has. He uses a 56k modem so he may not have downloaded the newest version.

    Also, our buddy says it's the AX version but when I view it's profile and on the burning program it says it's the Dru-500A.

    I'd appreciate any help.

    when your system boots you can see the info at the end of the sony boot screen.the newest version is 1.0g

    What Sony boot screen?
    The comuputers running Windows XP so it goes right to the XP loading screen??

    Download alcohol 120 and go to dvd/cd manager and click your drive and it will show the revisions. You can also download a program called cdinfo but it requires you to download different drivers.
