I'm looking for some opinions here. I've read good reviews of both the Sony DRU500a and Pioneer a104, but have been leaning towards the Sony. However, the Sony is essentially nowhere to be found and won't be shipped till after Christmas at most sites I've talked to. I'm working on a project for the family putting lots of VHS footage onto DVD and it was going to be my Christmas present to the family, but I won't be able to do that unless I can get a burner in the near future. How important is it to have the burner support both + and - technology. It seems to be that - is compatible with more DVDs players and their discs are significantly cheaper, which are the main reasons why I'd be going in that direction no matter what burner I buy. The Sony gives me more options down the road. For those of you with Sony DRU500a's, is it worth it? Is it far superior to say, the Pioneer A104? Is there any other burners out there I should be looking at? thanks.
