my dvd drive (sony dru-500ax) will read cd-roms just fine but when i put a burned cd in the drive it says there's nothing there or the format is wrong for the os. now the damn thing worked up till 2 days ago. also, in windows explorer when no disc is in the drive it says drive d: id a dvd-r drive like it should. but when i put a burned cd in, it says drive d: is a cd drive. i'm stuck. i searched the forum already and didn't find anything. if anyone has had this problem too help a brother out and tell me how you fixed it. i'm running win xp pro sp1 and my firmware if 2.0f.
Never tried burning cds with the 500AX, but that doesn't sound too good. And another problem with the sony dru 500ax surfaces... (add sinister and ominous music)
Actually I have burned a couple of audio cds and never had that problem. Never tried data cds though.
