    Hello,
I want to know if the subj will burn movies(matrix, whatever) to 1-2 DVD-Rs?
I saw some discussions about Sony drives of that series but not EXACTLY of this model DRU510A.
I was gonna order it tonight from Sony web-site, but it says - temporary out of stock, that made me suspicious.

    Any feedback is greatly appriciated!

For sure. The 510A is just a newer generation that started with the 500A and 500AX. Out of stock because it's the best burner available (imho) and in big demand. Once you're up and running, you'll find out that you can back up any movie to 1 dvd (sometimes compression is necessary), or to 2 w/o compression.

Sony 510 like commwiz stated is just the latest model...sold out temporarily because of popularity probably.

    I have a Pioneer 104 DVD-RW so I'm limited to burning -R (-RW) back up's.

Sony is a multi format burner , so it does both DVD-R/RW & DVD+R/RW

    -R = CBR [constant bitrate]
    +R = VBR [variable bitrate]

    : )
